STREAT exists to help young people who have experienced marginalisation, disadvantage, and a range of barriers to employment. We are joining Melbourne Zero, because half (55%) of our young people are, or have been, affected by homelessness, and it’s a challenge that has impacts on all areas of their life. Without a stable address, it’s impossible to get and hold down a job.
At STREAT, through our youth programs we aim to provide a sense of connection, safety and belonging to our young people. We want young people to thrive in all parts of their lives, and achieve a healthy self, healthy work and a healthy home. We do this through various programs available to young people including our half-day Taste of STREAT workshop, our 8-week Fast-Track To Work program, and our 9-month Paid To Work program.
